One of the most anticipated games to come out this year was Halo 3: ODST. Its exciting storyline of playing as a human and one of the Elite ODST team’s has you drop behind enemy lines where you find yourself in a world of hurt and separated from your team. Review’s and critics alike haled this game as a must have for any Halo fan.
Well I am a Halo fan and pre ordered the game once it was available. After picking up the game the place I pre ordered it from forgot to give me the card with the code for the Sergeant Johnson in game character. I called and they are holding for me till I can pick it up.
After playing some of the single player campaign for a bit I decided to try the Multiplayer and tried the new Firefight mode. Its ok for what it is and I didn’t find it fantastic or anything. I could set the option for Xbox Live (Friends Only) and go around and get all my killing spree’s, killing strikes and what-not all by myself. This is great if you want to rack them up but it doesn’t show a true score, in my opinion.
I wanted to try some Slayer or Deathmatch and I quickly found out that there is no other multiplayer modes then Firefight. That’s right, nadda, zilch, nothing.
For me the game is nothing more then a Single player game with one multiplayer map. It should have been a down loadable content for the xbox360 and not a fully priced game, with the Halo 3 maps that have already been bought through MS points. Halo Wars is far more valuable then ODST and that isn’t saying much. As for the Sergeant Johnson in game character, they can keep it as its not worth my time to bother with it anymore.
At least I have a game that has trade in value for EB Games and I will be using it to get Dragon Age: Origins to play while I wait for Modern Warfare 2.
Until then this game will sit on my shelf with a post it note on it that reads “Trade in for DR:O" and I won’t bother to finish it.
That just my opinion on a huge let down from the Halo series.
